Henriette (Jet) Siemons’ work revolves around the intertwining of family archives, language, folklore, and nature, woven together through personal and collective journeys. She investigates how archive, stories, myths, and memories persist across time and space, especially through oral histories and hidden genealogies. Her practice blends photography, maps, found materials, archival footage and text to explore the unseen connections between people, places, and the natural world. Coming together in interactive installations that invites the audience to come along her journey.

Her projects often emerge as quests: tracing spirits and legends like the Witte Wieven in the Dutch landscape; delving into her Sardinian heritage through family stories and local folklore; or examining the lives of strangers via forgotten photo albums. These explorations question how we inherit not only bloodlines but also languages we do not speak, histories we cannot fully access, and truths that blur the boundaries between fact and myth.

By combining archival research with immersive fieldwork and storytelling, Jet creates spaces where memory, myth, and nature collide. Her work invites reflection on how collective memory and personal history shape identity, especially through the voices and roles of women, and how these narratives continue to echo in the present.

Graduated from the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague in 2023, Jet continues to navigate the delicate balance between the visible and invisible, the known and the mysterious, the rational and irrational, inviting audiences to join her in uncovering the layers beneath what we think we know.
